AND SUNDAY MORNING...

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW OVER NORTHWEST WISCONSIN THROUGH MIDDAY SUNDAY...

.A COMBINATION OF ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE MOVING INTO THE AREA AND
LIGHT NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS WILL RESULT IN VERY COLD WIND
CHILLS TONIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING. CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO
IMPROVE BY MID TO LATE MORNING ON SUNDAY. MEANWHILE...ON THE SOUTH
SHORE OF LAKE SUPERIOR...LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL PERSIST FOR
THE REMAINDER OF TONIGHT AND DECREASE BY MIDDAY ON SUNDAY. SOME
LOCATIONS WILL SEE BETWEEN 3 AND 6 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DULUTH HAS ISSUED A LAKE EFFECT
SNOW ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST SUNDAY.

* LOCATIONS...NORTHWEST WISCONSIN ADJACENT TO LAKE SUPERIOR
  BETWEEN THE EAST SIDE OF THE CITY OF SUPERIOR AND ODANAH. THIS
  INCLUDES PORT WING... HIGHWAY 2 BETWEEN SUPERIOR AND
  ASHLAND...HIGHWAY 53 SOUTHEAST OF SUPERIOR...AND HIGHWAY 13 ON
  THE BAYFIELD PENINSULA.

* TIMING...OVERNIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...LOCAL AMOUNTS FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES OVER
  NORTHEAST DOUGLAS COUNTY AND OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN WEST OF
  BAYFIELD AND WASHBURN.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST AROUND 10 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH.

* VISIBILITIES...AS LOW AS A HALF MILE AT TIMES IN THE HEAVIER
  SNOW SHOWERS.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW PACKED AND SLIPPERY...WITH
  LOCALLY HAZARDOUS WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY MEANS LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS FORECAST
THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT IN SOME AREAS. LAKE EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE
INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP SEVERAL INCHES IN LOCALIZED AREAS. USE
CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR
DESTINATION.

  THESE CONDITIONS.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND WINDS WILL
COMBINE TO GENERATE VERY COLD WIND CHILLS. THIS MAY RESULT IN
HYPOTHERMIA AND POSSIBLY FROST BITE...IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT
