URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...ACCUMULATING SNOW EXPECTED OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST
WISCONSIN TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST TONIGHT
THROUGH WEDNESDAY AND BRING ACCUMULATING SNOW TO PORTIONS OF THE
NORTHLAND. PATCHY DRIZZLE OR FLURRIES THIS EVENING WILL GIVE WAY
TO MAINLY SNOW OVERNIGHT. AS OF LATE EVENING...SNOW CONTINUED TO
PUSH NORTH ACROSS NORTHWEST WISCONSIN AND THAT SHOULD CONTINUE
OVERNIGHT. A PERIOD OF DRIZZLE OR FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL REMAIN
POSSIBLE THROUGH THE NIGHT. THE SNOW WILL DIMINISH IN INTENSITY
TUESDAY NIGHT. THE AXIS OF GREATEST SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO
6 INCHES...IS EXPECTED OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.
LESSER SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED OVER THE
ARROWHEAD AND ALONG THE I- 35 CORRIDOR. STAY UPDATED ON THE LATEST
INFORMATION.

WEDNESDAY...

* LOCATION...PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN GENERALLY ALONG AND
  EAST OF A LINE FROM HAYWARD THROUGH IRON RIVER.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP OVER NORTHWEST WISCONSIN
  OVERNIGHT. SNOW HAD MOVED INTO PHILLIPS...RICE LAKE AND
  MANITOWISH WATERS AND WAS MOVING NORTHWEST AS OF LATE EVENING. A
  PERIOD OF DRIZZLE OR FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL ALSO REMAIN POSSIBLE.
  THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL OCCUR BETWEEN 8 AM AND 2 PM...BUT LAST
  LONGER ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE WHERE SOME LAKE ENHANCEMENT WILL
  OCCUR.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO 5 INCHES...WITH SOME LOCALLY HIGHER
  AMOUNTS AROUND 6 INCHES POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF
  BAYFIELD... ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES.

* IMPACTS...UNTREATED ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED AND
  SLIPPERY TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT ACCUMULATING SNOW
WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED
ROADS AND REDUCED VISIBILITY...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
