URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...SNOW FOR THE MINNESOTA ARROWHEAD SLOWLY ENDING THIS EVENING...

.LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW ACROSS NORTHEAST MINNESOTA HAS BROUGHT TOTAL
SNOWFALL OF ABOUT 3 TO 6 INCHES FROM THE DULUTH AREA AND UP ALONG
THE MINNESOTA NORTH SHORE. THE GREATEST AMOUNTS WILL BE FOUND ALONG
THE HIGHER TERRAIN NEAR LUTSEN...GRAND MARAIS...AND GRAND PORTAGE.
AREAS ALONG THE IMMEDIATE SHORELINE WILL HAVE LIGHTER
AMOUNTS...GENERALLY IN THE 1 TO 3 INCH RANGE. THERE COULD BE
BRIEF PERIODS OF LOW VISIBILITY ALONG HIGHWAY 61 BECAUSE OF STRONG
SOUTHERLY FLOW COMING OFF LAKE SUPERIOR. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF
FROM WEST TO EAST THIS EVENING.

EXPECTED THIS EVENING, AND THE FREEZING DRIZZLE SHOULD NOT HAVE
ANY IMPACTS EXCEPT TO PUT A THIN GLAZE ON ELEVATED SURFACES.

* LOCATIONS...LUTSEN...GRAND MARAIS...GRAND PORTAGE...AND ALONG
  THE HIGHER TERRAIN INLAND FROM THE NORTH SHORE.

* TIMING...ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL SHOULD COME TO AN END THIS
  EVENING...LEAVING ONLY VERY LIGHT SNOW AND PATCHY FREEZING
  DRIZZLE FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO 5 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
  IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

* VISIBILITY...ONE-HALF MILE AT TIMES...BUT GUSTY WINDS OFF LAKE
  SUPERIOR COMBINED WITH HEAVIER SNOW BURSTS...COULD DROP
  VISIBILITY TO ONE-QUARTER MILE ALONG PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY 61.

* IMPACTS...THE SNOW WILL CREATE SNOW COVERED ROADS AND PRODUCE
  TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES THIS EVENING.
