URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DULUTH MN
326 PM CST SAT DEC 20 2014

...HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE IN THE ARROWHEAD MONDAY AND TUESDAY...

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL SLOWLY MOVE THROUGH THE UPPER MIDWEST
EARLY THIS UPCOMING WEEK. THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING PERIODS OF SNOW
TO THE ARROWHEAD EARLY MONDAY THROUGH AT LEAST TUESDAY AFTERNOON.
THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR TOTAL SNOWFALL OF MORE THAN 6 INCHES
FOR PARTS OF THE ARROWHEAD. HUMID SOUTHERLY AND EASTERLY FLOW OVER
THE LAKE SUPERIOR INTO THE ARROWHEAD WILL HELP CONTRIBUTE TO THIS
SNOWFALL. THE SNOW WILL LIKELY BE WET AND HEAVY DUE TO THE
RELATIVELY WARM TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW TO MID 30S. THERE IS STILL
SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH THIS POTENTIAL STORM BECAUSE MELTING COULD
AFFECT TOTAL SNOWFALL. TEMPERATURES WILL BE WARMEST ALONG HIGHWAY
61 AND THE NEARBY LAKESHORE. THEREFORE...THE GREATEST SNOW TOTALS
WOULD LIKELY FALL IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF THE ARROWHEAD WHERE
TEMPERATURES WILL BE COLDER.
