Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
402 AM EDT Thu Oct 12 2017

For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A 30.3 inch high pressure ridge over southern Quebec
will push toward northern New England through this afternoon while
strengthening to 30.5 inches. Concurrently, a 29.7 inch low
pressure trough emerging over the western High Plains will track
northeast and strengthen to 29.1 inches over Hudson Bay by Friday
as it pushes a 29.9 inch trough across Lake Superior. A 30.2 inch
ridge will briefly move over Lake Superior Saturday while low
pressure of 29.7 inches develops over the Middle Mississippi River
Valley. Expect the low to deepen to 29.5 inches as it moves to the
Upper Great Lakes on Saturday night and to 29.2 inches by time it
reaches southern Quebec on Sunday afternoon. In wake of the low,
high pressure of 30.2 inches over the Central Plains on Sunday
will extend a ridge over the Great Lakes on Monday.
