WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MINNESOTA

IS WAS MAINLY CLEAR AND A VERY COOL EARLY MORNING ACROSS THE STATE.
TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE UPPER 30S NORTH TO A FEW LOW AND MID
50S IN THE SOUTHEAST.

A LARGE AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE BUILT OVER THE STATE OVERNIGHT AND WAS
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CLEAR SKY...LIGHT WIND AND COOL TEMPERATURES.
THIS WILL CONTINUE TODAY AS THE HIGH REMAINS OVER THE REGION.
AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES SHOULD WARM THROUGH THE 70S WITH PLENTY OF
SUNSHINE.

THE HIGH WILL MOVE SLOWLY EAST TONIGHT.  A SOUTHERLY WIND WILL
DEVELOP AHEAD OF ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPING OVER THE
ROCKIES.  THIS SYSTEM WILL SPREAD SOME HIGH CLOUDS INTO WESTERN
MINNESOTA LATER TONIGHT AND WITH THE SOUTHEAST WIND...TEMPERATURES
ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN THE MID 50S.  READINGS ARE EXPECTED TO
DROP THROUGH THE 40S AGAIN OVER THE NORTHEAST.

THE WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS SOUTH DAKOTA THURSDAY AND INTO
SOUTHERN MINNESOTA BY THURSDAY NIGHT.  THIS WILL SPREAD A LARGE AREA
OF RAIN AND A FEW EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS OVER MAINLY THE SOUTHWEST
THURSDAY AND ACROSS THE SOUTH THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY.  SOME OF
THE RAIN COULD BE ON THE HEAVY SIDE ACROSS THE FAR SOUTH.  HIGHS
THURSDAY ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE IN THE MID 70S TO LOWER 80S. LOWS
THURSDAY NIGHT IN THE MID 50S TO LOWER 60S.

THE LOW PRESSURE AREA SHOULD EXIT THE AREA FRIDAY NIGHT WITH SUNSHINE
RETURNING FOR MUCH OF SATURDAY ACROSS THE STATE.  LOWS FRIDAY NIGHT
SHOULD DROP TO THE MID 50S TO LOW 60S.  HIGHS SATURDAY ARE EXPECTED
IN THE MID 70S TO LOW 80S.

THE RETURN TO SUMMER LIKE WEATHER REMAINS INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WITH
HIGH TEMPERATURES WELL INTO THE 80S ONCE AGAIN FOR MUCH OF STATE.
