...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST TONIGHT...

AROUND MID MORNING A STATIONARY FRONT EXTENDED FROM THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS TO EASTERN UPPER MICHIGAN. THIS KEPT THE STATE IN MOSTLY
CLOUDY SKIES. LIGHT SNOW AND FLURRIES WERE FALLING ACROSS EASTERN
MINNESOTA. TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE LOW TO MID 20S FOR MOST OF
NORTHERN MINNESOTA AND IN THE UPPER 20S TO LOW 30S ACROSS THE SOUTH.

THE STATIONARY FRONT WILL REMAIN IN NEARLY THE SAME POSITION
TODAY. THIS WILL KEEP SKIES CLOUDY STATEWIDE AND BRING A THREAT
OF LIGHT SNOW AND FLURRIES TO THE NORTH. WHILE ACROSS THE SOUTH
THERE WILL BE A THREAT OF A WINTRY MIX OR LIGHT SNOW. HIGHS IN THE
20S IN NORTHERN AND WESTERN MINNESOTA. THE REST OF SOUTHERN
MINNESOTA WILL SEE READINGS IN THE LOWER 30S.

TONIGHT...A LOW WILL DEVELOP AND RIDE ALONG THE STATIONARY FRONT.
THIS WILL BRING SOUTHERN AND NORTHEAST MINNESOTA SNOW. THE
HEAVIEST AND STEADIEST SNOWFALL CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTHERN
AND SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA. LOWS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS IN NORTHERN
MINNESOTA AND IN THE LOW TO MID 20S ACROSS SOUTHERN MINNESOTA.

SATURDAY...THE LOW WILL EXIT AND SNOW WILL DIMINISH FROM SOUTHWEST
TO NORTHEAST AS THE DAY PROGRESSES. BY LATE IN THE AFTERNOON IT
SHOULD BE DRY STATEWIDE WITH CLOUDY SKIES. STORM TOTAL SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 5 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHERN
MINNESOTA. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE TEENS TO THE NORTH AND THE 20S
ACROSS THE SOUTH.
