The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
  Southwest Texas

* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 330 PM until
  1000 PM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3.5
    inches in diameter likely
  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Isolated to widely scattered severe thunderstorms are
forecast to develop this afternoon into the evening.  Supercells
will be the preferred thunderstorm type.  The stronger storms will
be capable of a risk for large to giant hail and severe gusts.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 90
statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles west northwest
of San Angelo TX to 70 miles southwest of Del Rio TX. For a complete

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.

3.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
