FLOOD WATCH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DES MOINES IA
929 PM CDT THU SEP 22 2016

...FLASH FLOODING AGAIN POSSIBLE OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHERN AND
CENTRAL IOWA TONIGHT...

THERE REMAINS UNCERTAINTY AS TO WHERE THE AXIS OF HEAVIEST RAIN
WILL SET UP OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOME OF THE
SAME AREAS THAT RECEIVED HEAVY RAIN WEDNESDAY NIGHT MAY AGAIN SEE
ADDITIONAL MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL TONIGHT. THOUGH AMOUNTS ARE
NOT EXPECTED TO BE AS HIGH...ANY ADDITIONAL RAIN OVER WATER
SOAKED AREAS WILL QUICKLY RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS.
ADDITIONALLY...THERE IS SUPPORT FOR A SLIGHT SOUTHERLY SHIFT IN
THE EXPECTED HEAVY RAINFALL AXIS TONIGHT. THIS MAY KEEP THE
HEAVIER OVERNIGHT RAINS FROM HIGHWAY 20 AND AREAS SOUTH TO HIGHWAY
30. AT THIS TIME GENERALLY 1 TO 2 INCH RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE WITH
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.
