...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1245 AM CDT FOR
CRAWFORD AND WESTERN CARROLL COUNTIES...

ALTHOUGH THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAS EXITED THE WARNED AREA...THE THREAT
OF FLASH FLOODING REMAINS AS WATER LEVELS ALONG SOME CREEKS AND
SMALL STREAMS ARE ARE CONTINUING TO RISE.

AT 925 PM CDT...THE CRAWFORD COUNTY SHERIFF/S DEPARTMENT REPORTED
THAT THE DITCHES WERE FULL ALONG PORTIONS OF IOWA HIGHWAY 39 NORTH
OF DENISON...DUE TO THE FAILURE OF A SMALL DAM LOCATED APPROXIMATELY
3 MILES NORTH OF DENISON.

IN ADDITION...THE BOYER RIVER WAS BANKFULL DUE TO RUNOFF FROM
EARLIER HEAVY RAINFALL. WATER FROM THE EARLIER DAM FAILURE IS NOT
EXPECTED TO SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECT LEVELS ALONG THE BOYER RIVER
DOWNSTREAM INCLUDING THE DENISON AREA.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
CARROLL...DENISON...MANNING...SCHLESWIG...MANILLA...DOW CITY...
CHARTER OAK...ARCADIA...BREDA...VAIL...TEMPLETON...WESTSIDE...
KIRON...DEDHAM...DELOIT...HALBUR...RICKETTS...ARION...BUCK GROVE AND
ASPINWALL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING.

TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.
