...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 100 AM CDT FOR
NORTHERN BUTLER COUNTY...

AT 1106 PM CDT...WHILE HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED ACROSS THE WARNED
AREA...THE THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING CONTINUES. UPWARDS OF SEVEN TO
TEN INCHES OF RAIN OR MORE IS ESTIMATED TO HAVE FALLEN IN NORTHERN
BUTLER AND FLOYD COUNTY IN A VERY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. THIS WILL
LEAD TO EXTREMELY RAPID RISES ALONG THE SHELL ROCK RIVER AND ITS
TRIBUTARIES. THE SHELL ROCK RIVER HAS RISEN ALMOST FIVE FEET IN SIX
HOURS AT MARBLE ROCK AND THE RIVER SHOULD CONTINUE TO RISE THROUGH
THE NIGHT. ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL IS ALSO FORECAST TONIGHT WHICH
MAY EXACERBATE THE FLOODING CONDITIONS.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
CLARKSVILLE AND GREENE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...FARMLAND...AND OTHER LOW LYING
SPOTS.
