* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WARREN COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA...
  MARION COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA...
  MAHASKA COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA...

* UNTIL 615 PM CDT WEDNESDAY

* AT 545 AM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED FLOODING IN MANY
  RURAL AREAS OF THESE COUNTIES. THE BANNER AREA...SOMERSET PARK AND
  SOMERSET RD NORTH OF INDIANOLA IN WARREN COUNTY IS AFFECTED BY
  FLOODING...SOME PROBLEMS BETWEEN INDIANOLA AND CARLISLE...IN
  WARREN COUNTY. MARION COUNTY REPORTS WATER OVER THE ROAD ALONG
  DUBUQUE AND 160TH PLACE...NEAR OTLEY WITH THE ROAD CLOSED THERE.
  MAHASKA COUNTY REPORTS THE MUCHAKINOCK CREEK IS OUT OF ITS BANKS
  AND OVER HIGHWAY 92 AT THE 1900 BLOCK...THE ROAD IS CURRENTLY SHUT
  DOWN. OTHER ROADS MAY BE WASHED OUT OR DAMAGED THROUGHOUT THESE
  COUNTIES. TRAVELERS ARE URGED TO USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DRIVING
  AROUND THESE AREAS TODAY...AVOID ANY FLOOD WATERS AND FLOODED
  LOCATIONS.

  RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES OR MORE OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN IN
  THE PAST 12 HOURS ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  DES MOINES...WEST DES MOINES...INDIANOLA...OSKALOOSA...PELLA...
  NORWALK...KNOXVILLE...CARLISLE...MONROE...PLEASANTVILLE...NEW
  SHARON...MELCHER-DALLAS...EDDYVILLE...LAKE RED ROCK...KNOXVILLE
  RACEWAY...AVENUE OF THE SAINTS EVENT CENTER...MILO...HARTFORD...
  FREMONT AND BEACON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...AS WELL AS FARM AND COUNTRY ROADS. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

TO REPORT FLOODING...HAVE THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY RELAY
YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE.
