the following rivers in Iowa...South River...Cedar Creek...

  Affecting the following counties in Iowa...Mahaska...Marion...
  Warren

River forecasts include observed precipitation...as well as expected
precipitation over the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you encounter a flooded area...turn around and find an alternate
route. Turn around...do not drown.

  The South River near Ackworth...or From Otter Creek near Milo...to
  the Des Moines River.
* Until late this afternoon.
* At 1:15 PM Thursday the stage was 34.8 feet...or 5.8 feet above
  Flood Stage.
* Flood Stage is 29.0 feet.
* Record flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...Already crested, going below Flood Stage late this
  afternoon or early this evening.
* Impact...At 33.0 feet...168th Avenue floods near the bridge over
  the river.

  the Des Moines River.
* Until Friday morning.
* At 1:15 PM Thursday the stage was 30.9 feet...or 5.9 feet above
  Flood Stage.
* Flood Stage is 25.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Forecast...Near crest now, falling below Flood Stage Friday
  morning.
* Impact...At 29.0 feet...Water approaches the underside of the Iowa
  156 bridge.
