Today:

A quiet night across the area with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures
by 4 am had only cooled into the 40s and low 50s across the area.
Wind has generally been out of the southwest at 10 to 15 mph, however
across parts of northwest Iowa winds have begun to shift towards out
of the northwest.

This afternoon will feature another round of temperatures warming
into the 70s. Winds will remain light and gradually shift to out of
the north through the day. Skies will remain partly cloud ahead of the
next system.

Tonight and beyond:

By this evening scattered thunderstorms will develop across far
southeast Iowa. While a few stronger storms may produce small hail,
the overall severe risk is low. Storms will continue Wednesday and
Thursday, increasing in strength each day. On Wednesday evening a
few strong to severe storms are possible in southern Iowa. Showers
and thunderstorms will continue into Thursday when stronger storms
are possible in central to southern Iowa.

Precipitation will come to an end by Friday morning with much cooler
air moving into the area. Highs by Sunday and into early next week
with only reach the upper 30s to mid 40s.
