URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...MODERATE SNOW TO SPREAD ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA TONIGHT...

.LOW PRESSURE WILL PASS THROUGH SOUTHEAST IOWA TONIGHT AND PASS
INTO WISCONSIN BY SATURDAY MORNING. THE LOW WILL PRODUCE
WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION ACROSS MUCH OF IOWA DURING THE NIGHT
WITH MODERATE ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA. THE
SNOW IS EXPECTED TO END BY SATURDAY MORNING AS THE SYSTEM PULLS
AWAY FROM THE STATE.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS
EVENING TO 6 AM CST SATURDAY...

* TIMING...PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD INTO NORTHWEST
  IOWA BY LATE AFTERNOON INTO EARLY EVENING AND INCREASE IN
  INTENSITY. INITIALLY A BRIEF PERIOD OF FREEZING DRIZZLE MAY
  OCCUR...WITH THE PRECIPITATION CHANGING QUICKLY OVER TO SNOW.
  THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL RATES ARE EXPECTED FROM 10 PM TO 4 AM
  BEFORE THE SNOW BEGINS TO DIMINISH AS THE SYSTEM PULLS TO THE
  NORTHEAST.

* STORM TOTAL SNOW...SNOW AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED
  BY SATURDAY MORNING WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ALONG THE
  MINNESOTA BORDER.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...NORTH WINDS AT 10 TO 20 MPH ARE EXPECTED
  WITH SOME HIGHER GUSTS. THIS MAY LEAD TO SNOW BLOWING ACROSS
  ROADWAYS AND SOME REDUCTION IN VISIBILITIES TO BELOW ONE HALF
  MILE AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE IN
  ADDITION TO THE SNOW...ICY CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED ON AREA
  ROADS LEADING TO HAZARDOUS TRAVEL. DRIVE SAFELY AND EXPECT
  LONGER TRAVEL TIMES.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
