...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR
THE ISLAND OF KAUAI IN KAUAI COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...The island of Kauai in Kauai County.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
  streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 838 AM HST, radar indicated a line of heavier rain that
    will begin to move onshore of Kauai from the west around 9am,
    and then move across the island. Rain in this line is falling
    at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Additional rain will
    continue behind this line. Area streams continue to remain
    elevated and will respond quickly to additional rain.
  - This advisory is for the entire island of Kauai.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don`t drown.

A Flood Watch is also in effect until 6 am HST Monday.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1100 AM HST if flooding
persists.
