Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated to develop today. Not every location is expected to see this rainfall despite rain chances hovering between 40 and 50 percent this afternoon. Precipitation that does develop should track from northwest to southeast. Chances for rain will decrease going through the late afternoon hours. Severe weather appears unlikely. A greater chance of showers and thunderstorms exist for Sunday as a stronger storm system moves across the region. With this system, precipitation coverage should become more widespread and numerous, tracking from southwest to northeast across the state.
