...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

  Long Island Sound East of New Haven CT / Port Jefferson NY to the
Mouth of the Connecticut River...

At 753 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Madison
Reef to New Haven Harbor, moving east at 30 knots.

Locations impacted include...
New Haven Harbor, The Thimbles, and Falkner Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
