...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM AST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive runoff  is expected.

* WHERE...Barceloneta and Manati, along Rio Grande de Manati.

* WHEN...Until 1145 PM AST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 538 PM AST, USGS gauge reports that Rio Grande de Manati
    might be out of its banks possibly affecting several roads
    across the affected municipalities in the next few hours.
    Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    PR-2 from Km 50.7 to Km 54.3
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Rio Cibuco_Coastal Watershed, Rio Grande de Manati and
    Coastal Watershed.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
