.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 203 PM EDT Mon Apr 15 2024

Upper level ridging continues to stretch from the western Gulf of
Mexico northward through the Mississippi River Valley to start the
forecast period. On the surface, broad surface high pressure near
Bermuda ridges west-southwest over Florida. As the upper ridge moves
eastward over the next couple of days and the surface ridge remains
parked over Florida, rain-free conditions and the warming trend will
continue through the week and into the weekend. We will have one
more cool night tonight in the upper 50`s to low 60`s and then the
rest of the week overnight lows will remain in the 60`s. Daytime
highs today and tomorrow will top out in the mid to upper 80`s, then
further heating up into the upper 80`s to mid 90`s by the end of the
week and into the weekend. The next hint of any chance of rain will
not come until the end of the forecast period on next Monday, but
still only about a 20 percent chance at best.
