060 FLUS43 KTOP 010825 HWOTOP Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service Topeka KS 325 AM CDT Wed May 1 2024 KSZ008>012-020>024-026-034>040-054>056-058-059-020830- Republic-Washington-Marshall-Nemaha-Brown-Cloud-Clay-Riley- Pottawatomie-Jackson-Jefferson-Ottawa-Dickinson-Geary-Morris- Wabaunsee-Shawnee-Douglas-Lyon-Osage-Franklin-Coffey-Anderson- 325 AM CDT Wed May 1 2024 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Kansas, east central Kansas, north central Kansas and northeast Kansas. .DAY ONE...Today and tonight. Strong to severe storms will be possible today and tonight across the outlook area. Scattered storms are expected on and off through the day, but later focusing along a warm front this afternoon. Main hazards will be large hail and damaging winds. Additionally, a few tornadoes may be possible across central and north central Kansas late this afternoon and evening. Severe storms moving northeast out of southern Kansas this evening will pose a risk for all modes of severe weather. Several rounds of thunderstorms could generate heavy rainfall and increase the potential for flooding and flash flooding. Be sure to remain up to date with the latest forecast information. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. Another day of potentially strong to severe thunderstorms is expected on Thursday and Thursday evening as storms move eastward ahead of a cold front. Quarter size hail and wind gusts to 60 mph will be possible as well as locally heavy rainfall.
