WEDNESDAY...

* LOCATION...THE CHUKCHI SEA COAST.

* COASTAL FLOODING...STORM SURGE AND TIDES WILL COMBINE TO RAISE
  SEA LEVELS 4 TO 6 FEET ABOVE NORMAL HIGH TIDE LINE. EXPECT
  ADDITIONAL WAVE RUN UP ALONG EXPOSED COASTLINES.

* TIMING...WEST TO SOUTHWEST 40 TO 50 MPH WILL PERSIST INTO
  EARLY WEDNESDAY BEFORE DIMINISHING. HIGHEST WATER LEVELS WILL
  BE LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...MAJOR EROSION IS EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM. IN
  KIVALINA, WATER WILL BE PUSHED INTO THE LAGOON AND CAUSE
  FLOODING ON THE LAGOON SIDE OF CHANNEL STREET WITH SIGNIFICANT
  WAVE RUNUP AND EROSION ALONG THE BEACH. IN SHISHMAREF,
  FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS AND ROAD TO THE DUMP MAY BE
  IMPACTED. RESIDENTS SHOULD PREPARE BY MOVING BOATS AND OTHER
  VALUABLES WILL ABOVE THE NORMAL HIGH TIDE LINE.

  LATE TONIGHT AND DIMINISH WEDNESDAY MORNING. HIGHEST WATER
  LEVELS WILL BE THIS EVENING INTO EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...MAJOR EROSION IS EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM ALONG THE
  COAST. IN GOLOVIN...THE OLD RUNWAY WILL BECOME INUNDATED.
  WATER LEVELS WILL RISE HIGH ENOUGH TO IMPACT ALL AREAS
  NORTHWEST OF THE POST OFFICE, INCLUDING THE SCHOOL. RESIDENTS
  SHOULD PREPARE BY MOVING VALUABLES WELL ABOVE THE NORMAL HIGH
  TIDE LINE.

  RUN UP ALONG EXPOSED COASTLINES.

* TIMING...WEST TO SOUTHWEST 25 TO 40 MPH WILL PERSIST INTO
  TONIGHT BEFORE DIMINISHING WEDNESDAY MORNING. HIGHEST WATER
  LEVELS ARE EXPECTED THIS EVENING INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...MAJOR EROSION IS EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM ALONG THE
  COAST. IN UNALAKLEET...THE AREA FROM THE ALASKA COMMERCIAL STORE
  TO THE UNALAKLEET RIVER ON THE LAGOON SIDE OF MAIN STREET WILL
  BE INUNDATED. LOW LYING AREAS AROUND THE AIRPORT AND ALONG THE
  LAGOON WILL SEE FLOODING. IN STEBBINS...THE FIRST TWO ROWS OF
  HOMES ON THE EAST SIDE OF TOWN (LAGOON SIDE) WILL SEE WATER
  UNDER THEM. THE ROAD LEADING OUT OF STEBBINS NEAR THE LAGOON
  WILL BE FLOODED. WAVE RUNUP ON THE BEACH SIDE OF TOWN IS
  EXPECTED. IN SHAKTOOLIK...INUNDATION OF SALT WATER INTO FRESH
  WATER SOURCE AND FLOODING OF LOW LYING AREAS AROUND THE AIRPORT
  IS EXPECTED. IN ST MICHAEL...WATER LEVELS MAY BE HIGH ENOUGH TO
  IMPACT ROAD TO BARGE LANDING AND SOME STRUCTURES. RESIDENTS
  SHOULD PREPARE BY MOVING VALUABLES WELL ABOVE THE NORMAL HIGH
  TIDE LINE.

  SEA LEVELS 10 TO 11 FEET NEAR KOTLIK AND 5 TO 6 FEET ELSEWHERE
  ABOVE NORMAL. EXPECT ADDITIONAL WAVE RUN UP ALONG EXPOSED
  COASTLINES.

* TIMING...SOUTHWEST WINDS 30 TO 40 MPH WILL PERSIST INTO THE
  EVENING BEFORE DIMINISHING. HIGHEST WATER LEVELS WILL BE LATE
  THIS EVENING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...MAJOR EROSION IS POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM. IN
  KOTLIK...BUILDINGS AND HOMES ON THE RIVER SIDE OF TOWN WILL BE
  INUNDATED FROM WATER BACKED UP INTO THE KOTLIK RIVER.
  ELSEWHERE...WATER WILL BE BACKED UP IN THE YUKON RIVER AND STORM
  SURGE WILL PUSH WATER INTO LOW LYING AREAS. RESIDENTS SHOULD
  PREPARE NOW BY MOVING BOATS AND OTHER VALUABLES WELL ABOVE THE
  NORMAL HIGH TIDE LINE.

  SEA LEVELS 5 TO 6 FEET ABOVE NORMAL. EXPECT ADDITIONAL WAVE
  RUN UP ALONG EXPOSED COASTLINES.

* TIMING...SOUTHEAST WINDS 35 TO 50 MPH WILL BECOME SOUTH EARLY
  THIS EVENING, THEN WILL BECOME SOUTHWEST BY MIDNIGHT. WINDS
  WILL DIMINISH EARLY WEDNESDAY. WATER LEVELS WILL RISE THIS
  EVENING AND REMAIN HIGH THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE HIGHEST
  WATER LEVELS ARE EXPECTED WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...THE STORM SURGE MAY DISPLACE THE YOUNG ICE IN
  KOTZEBUE SOUND AND PUSH IT ONSHORE. MINOR FLOODING IN LOW AREA
  EAST OF KOTZEBUE WHERE DOG YARDS HAVE BEEN IN THE PAST, AND
  ALONG THE LAGOON ON THE SOUTH AND EAST SIDE OF KOTZEBUE. THIS
  INCLUDES THE AREA NEAR THE TEACHERS HOUSING IN KOTZEBUE.
  RESIDENTS SHOULD PREPARE BY MOVING VALUABLES WELL ABOVE THE
  NORMAL HIGH TIDE LINE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.
