...EXTENDED PERIOD OF HIGH SURF THROUGH TUESDAY FOR SOUTHWESTERN
CALIFORNIA BEACHES...

...COASTAL FLOODING OF LOW LYING PARKING LOTS AND CAMPGROUNDS IS
POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY FOR THE CENTRAL COAST...

.AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF HIGH SURF WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY. THE
SURF WILL PEAK THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY THEN SLOWLY SUBSIDE
SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. THIS LARGE LONG-PERIOD WEST SWELL HAS
THE POTENTIAL TO BRING THE HIGHEST SURF SEEN IN RECENT YEARS TO
THE REGION. VERY LARGE SURF WILL CREATE DANGEROUS OCEAN CONDITIONS
AND HAZARDS TO BEACH AREAS INCLUDING SOME LOCAL
FLOODING...ESPECIALLY FOR THE CENTRAL COAST. THE SURF WILL PEAK
THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY THEN SLOWLY SUBSIDE SUNDAY THROUGH
TUESDAY.

FOR TODAY AND SATURDAY...HIGH TIDES ARE FORECAST TO BE BETWEEN 5
AND 6 FEET EACH MORNING BETWEEN 500 AM AND 700 AM. THE COMBINATION
OF VERY LARGE SURF AND HIGH TIDES COULD RESULT IN SOME MINOR
COASTAL FLOODING ISSUES.

  TIDE EARLY THIS MORNING AND ONCE AGAIN SATURDAY MORNING WILL
  LEAD TO AN INCREASED RISK OF MINOR COASTAL FLOODING OF LOW LYING
  AREAS SUCH AS BEACH PARKING LOTS AND CAMPGROUNDS.

* SURF...SURF OF 10 TO 15 FEET TODAY WILL BUILD TO 20 TO 30 FEET
  THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY. THE SURF WILL
  SLOWLY DIMINISH SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...BUT WILL REMAIN ABOVE
  HIGH SURF THRESHOLDS.

* IMPACTS...THE LARGE SURF WILL LIKELY CAUSE ADDITIONAL BEACH
  EROSION AND COULD POTENTIALLY DAMAGE COASTAL STRUCTURES...SUCH
  AS PIERS. STRONG RIP CURRENTS THAT WILL CREATE A RISK OF OCEAN
  DROWNING. SNEAKER WAVES CAN SUDDENLY OVERRUN PREVIOUSLY DRY
  BEACHES AND JETTIES. MINOR COASTAL FLOODING OF BEACH PARKING
  LOTS...WALKWAYS AND CAMPGROUNDS IS POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY AROUND
  THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE EACH MORNING.

MAKE SWIMMING AND ROCK JETTIES DANGEROUS.
