...FLOODING EXPECTED IN SOURIS RIVER BASIN...

HEAVY RAINFALL OVER NORTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING HAS RESULTED IN FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND COULEES
ACROSS THE SOURIS RIVER BASIN. SIGNIFICANT RUNOFF HAS ALREADY
MATERIALIZED IN LAKE DARLING, WITH UPSTREAM RESERVOIRS OF ALAMEDA
AND RAFFERTY LIKELY TO RISE INTO THEIR EXCLUSIVE FLOOD CONTROL
ZONES. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA INTO
SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN IS EXPECTED SUNDAY AND MONDAY. AS A RESULT
OF THE CURRENT RAINS AND THE EXPECTED RAINFALL, IT IS LIKELY
ENOUGH WATER WILL NEED TO BE PASSED THROUGH LAKE DARLING TO CAUSE
AT LEAST MINOR FLOODING ALONG THE SOURIS RIVER IN NORTH DAKOTA.
STAY TUNED FOR UPDATED FLOOD FORECASTS FOR THE SOURIS RIVER IN THE
COMING DAYS AS INFORMATION ON EXPECTED DAM RELEASES BECOMES
AVAILABLE.
