...HEAVY RAINFALL LIKELY FROM TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

.A SLOW MOVING FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA TONIGHT...AND
THEN STALL OUT ALONG OR JUST NORTH OF INTERSTATE 44 FROM TUESDAY
THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THIS FRONT WILL INTERACT WITH A TROPICAL
AIRMASS TO PRODUCE PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN THROUGH AT LEAST
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS THE AREA.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN TWO AND FOUR INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS
THE WATCH AREA...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THE
HEAVIEST RAINFALL IS CURRENTLY EXPECTED ACROSS NORTHWESTERN
PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA...OR ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF A LINE
FROM JOPLIN TO LAKE OF THE OZARKS.

SOILS ARE ALREADY SATURATED ACROSS THE REGION...AND MANY CREEKS...
STREAMS AND RIVERS ARE ALREADY RUNNING ABOVE NORMAL. THIS
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO LEAD TO FLOODING OF STREAMS
AND RIVERS IN SOME AREAS...ALONG WITH THE FLOODING OF MANY LOW
WATER CROSSINGS.

  FOLLOWING AREAS...IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS...BOURBON...CHEROKEE
  AND CRAWFORD. IN MISSOURI...BARRY...BARTON...BENTON...
  CAMDEN...CEDAR...CHRISTIAN...DADE...DALLAS...DENT...DOUGLAS...
  GREENE...HICKORY...JASPER...LACLEDE...LAWRENCE...MARIES...
  MCDONALD...MILLER...MORGAN...NEWTON...OZARK...PHELPS...POLK...
  PULASKI...ST. CLAIR...STONE...TANEY...TEXAS...VERNON...
  WEBSTER AND WRIGHT.

* THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING

* SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN WILL INCREASE TONIGHT
  AND CONTINUE AT TIMES THROUGH WEDNESDAY. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL
  AMOUNTS BETWEEN TWO AND FOUR INCHES ARE CURRENTLY EXPECTED
  ACROSS THE WATCH AREA...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.
  THE HIGHEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS THROUGH WEDNESDAY ARE CURRENTLY
  EXPECTED TO OCCUR ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM JOPLIN TO
  LAKE OF THE OZARKS.

* SOILS ARE ALREADY SATURATED ACROSS THE REGION...AND MANY

  FLOODING OF LARGER MAIN STEM RIVERS MAY ALSO OCCUR.

THOSE CAMPING OR FLOATING ALONG AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS SHOULD BE
ALERT FOR RISING WATER LEVELS.

RIVERS POTENTIALLY IMPACTED BY FLOODING INCLUDE THE OSAGE...MARMATON...SPRING
...ELK...JAMES...AND GASCONADE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
