The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northern Essex County in northeastern Vermont...

* Until 700 PM EDT

* At 400 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  torrential rainfall across the warned area. One and a half to as
  much as three inches of rain have already fallen, with additional
  amounts in excess of 1 inch possible. Flash flooding is expected
  to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Island Pond, Canaan, Brighton, Bloomfield, Norton, Averill, Warren
  Gore, Warners Grant, Lewis, Averys Gore, Lemington, Brunswick,
  Ferdinand, Beecher Falls, East Brighton and Brighton State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots such as culverts. If encountering high water while in your
vehicle, turn around, don`t drown!
