THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FAIRBANKS HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  THE LOWER KOYUKUK AND MIDDLE YUKON VALLEYS.

* UNTIL 1115 PM AKDT SUNDAY

* BETWEEN 1 AND 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER THE AREA THROUGH
  SATURDAY EVENING. UP TO AN ADDITIONAL HALF INCH IS EXPECTED
  THROUGH SUNDAY WITH THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS SOUTH AND EAST OF THE
  YUKON RIVER.

* THE RECENT HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE RAPID RISES IN SMALL
  STREAMS...ESPECIALLY IN HILLY TERRAIN. LOCALIZED FLOODING IN LOW
  LYING AREAS IS ALSO POSSIBLE. THE MAJOR RIVERS...INCLUDING THE
  KOYUKUK AND YUKON ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW FLOOD STAGE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

RESIDENTS AND PEOPLE RECREATING ON RIVERS SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR
WATER LEVELS FOR RAPID CHANGES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS
FLOODED ROADS OR TRAILS.

TO REPORT FLOODING...CONTACT YOUR LOCAL VILLAGE OFFICIAL OR PUBLIC
SAFETY OFFICER WHO CAN RELAY THE REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED ...OR
PONDING OF WATER IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
