Flood Statement

427 AM CDT Tue May 23 2017

.The Flood Warning along the Yellow River at Necedah has been
cancelled. Flood Warnings continue along the Mississippi River
at Wabasha, Winona, and La Crosse, as well as along the
Trempealeau River at Dodge.

River forecasts take into account both observed and forecast
precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars into flooded areas. Remember, it only takes two
feet of water to float most automobiles, including sport utility
vehicles. Turn Around, Don`t Drown!

The Flood Warning continues for the Mississippi River At Wabasha.
* until further notice...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:15 AM Tuesday the stage was 12.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 12.9 feet by
  Wednesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...The railroad underpass on Highway 60 may be
  flooded. Flooding is also possible along Lawrence Boulevard and
  Main Street East. Some businesses near the river may be flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for the Mississippi River At Winona.
* until Monday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:45 AM Tuesday the stage was 12.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this morning and continue to
  rise to near 13.9 feet by Wednesday evening. The river will fall
  below flood stage by Sunday.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Prairie Island Park begins to flood. Pumping
  operations are underway by the city of Winona, and dike patrols are
  started.

The Flood Warning continues for the Mississippi River At La Crosse.
* from this afternoon to Tuesday May 30...Or until the warning is
  cancelled.
* At 3:15 AM Tuesday the stage was 11.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by today and continue to rise to
  near 12.6 feet by Thursday morning. The river will fall below flood
  stage by Monday.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet...Pettibone Campground and RV Park is flooded.
  Road access to the north end of the Shore Acres development is
  impacted by flooding. Some lowland flooding occurs in other areas
  near the river.

* until Thursday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 3:45 AM Tuesday the stage was 10.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall...Dropping below flood
  stage by Wednesday.
* Impact...At 9.5 feet...The entrance road to the Trempealeau National
  Wildlife Refuge is flooded.

* At 3:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 14.96 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Fell below flood stage at  3:00 AM Tuesday.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to 13.5 feet by
  Wednesday morning.
