.Significant rises on area rivers will continue due to recent heavy
rainfall. Moderate to major flooding will occur across portions of the
Kankakee and St. Joseph river basins.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep
to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood
waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or local media for further
statements and updated forecasts.

* At 10.6 feet...Expect moderate flooding of Scidmore Park. Flooding
  of the basements of several homes and businesses along south Main
  Street in the vicinity of the lumber yard can be expected.

  and crest near 9.9 feet around  7 PM Saturday February 24.
  Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* At 10.0 feet...A major flood is in progress. Expect extensive
  inundation and damage. Many primary roads and bridges will be
  closed and many people evacuated.

  city streets...park drives and county roads.

  are blocked by flood waters. People in these areas should move
  property to higher ground and those nearest the river may have to
  evacuate their homes.

* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage early Wednesday
  morning and crest near 18.9 feet around  1 AM Thursday February 22
  and fall below flood stage around  9 PM Friday February 23.
* At 18.5 feet...County Road 225 North...just north of Pleasant Mills
  Indiana is closed by flood water. Low land areas of Kekionga Park
  on the southeast side of Decatur begin flooding. Flooding is
  limited to farm land in Pleasant Mills Indiana and Wilshire Ohio.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.8 feet which occurred
  on Apr 6 2009.

* At 5 PM Tuesday the stage was 11.9 feet and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Wednesday
  afternoon and crest near 14.5 feet around  1 AM Thursday February
  22 and fall below flood stage around  1 PM Thursday February 22.
* At 15.0 feet...Flooding occurs on the lowest unprotected city
  streets, park drives and county roads.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.2 feet which occurred
  on Dec 29 2015.
