...THE FLOOD ADVISORY FOR AN ICE JAM REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE FOR NORTH CENTRAL LEMHI COUNTY...

* Emergency management and a trained weather spotter continue to
report that multiple ice jams have formed along the Salmon River
from 7 miles south of the town of Salmon all the way to the town
of North Fork, Idaho. Observations from Monday January 16 indicate
the ice jams continue to slowly grow backing ice up further in the
river, though river levels have not changed since the 15th.

* These freeze-up ice jams will be capable of backing up water into
low lying areas adjacent to the Salmon River, affecting private
property and residences along the river.

* Temperatures will stay cold for the rest of the weekend with low
temperatures in the negative 5 to negative 15 degree range.
Additional ice accumulation is expected with the cold temperatures
and ice jams in the Salmon River may continue to build.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
