Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
353 PM MDT Mon Jun 26 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM MDT TUESDAY FOR
GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 211...213...
AND 214...

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...Warmer and drier air will move
over Colorado on Tuesday. There will still be some low level
moisture over the eastern portion of the plains. Further west,
humidities will be low and there will only be isolated
thunderstorms. Some of these storms could produce dry lightning.
Westerly winds will mix down in the afternoon, with gusts of up to
35 mph over the mountains, and 25 mph in and near the lower
foothills. The wind and humidity will combine to produce Red Flag
conditions in the mountain parks, and will approach Red Flag
criteria in the Front Range foothills and nearby plains for a few
hours on Tuesday afternoon.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...
Gusty westerly winds combined with low relative humidity will again
produce elevated fire weather conditions across the mountain valleys
of central and north central Colorado on Wednesday, despite slightly
cooler temperatures relative to Tuesday. Thursday through Saturday
again will see dry air but winds will be much less, reducing the
fire danger somewhat. Saturday there will be a slight chance of
thunderstorms in the afternoon.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
