FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
435 AM EDT WED JUL 27 2016

...WARM AND DRY TODAY WITH SHOWERS/STORMS RETURNING THURSDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
A GOOD DEAL OF SUNSHINE TODAY WILL LEAD TO ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES DEVELOPING OVER THE ENTIRE AREA. THIS WILL HELP TO
LOWER AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES DOWN INTO THE 30 PERCENT
RANGE. THERE MAY BE SOME LATE DAY/EARLY EVENING SHOWERS OR STORMS
NEAR THE CANADIAN BORDER...BUT MOST OF THE AREA WILL STAY DRY. A
BETTER CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL COME THURSDAY
INTO THURSDAY NIGHT AS AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVES ACROSS THE
AREA. TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL GENERALLY BE A QUARTER INCH OR
LESS...BUT LOCALLY HIGHER WITHIN ANY THUNDERSTORMS. AFTERNOON
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES ON THURSDAY WILL BE ABOUT 10 PERCENT HIGHER
THAN TODAY. OTHER THAN THE POTENTIAL FOR A FEW SHOWERS ON FRIDAY
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HALF OF VERMONT...IT LOOKS LIKE A DRYING TREND
WILL TAKE PLACE INTO THE WEEKEND WITH NO PRECIPITATION EXPECTED
SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE RIGHT AROUND
SEASONAL NORMALS WITH FIRE WEATHER ELEMENTS SUCH AS WIND AND
RELATIVE HUMIDITY NOT REACHING ANY CRITICAL LEVELS.
