Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and
Northern New York
National Weather Service Burlington VT

...Dry Weather Continues Into Early Next Week...

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will continue to bring dry weather to the region
through early next week. Plenty of sunshine is expected which will
help continue to dry the already dry fine fuels. Afternoon
relative humidities will lower into the 30 percent range both
today and Sunday. Could even see some values in the 20 percent
range this afternoon...especially over eastern Vermont. Winds will
not be as strong as the past couple of days with speeds generally
under 10 mph today and slightly higher on Sunday. This should
help to temper fire danger a bit...but the lower humidities and
dry fuels suggest strong winds are not needed to have issues with
any fire starts. Monday should begin to transition to more humid
conditions as southerly flow aloft becomes established. We will
still see above normal temperatures...but starting Monday night
and especially Tuesday and Wednesday rain chances will be
increasing over the area.
