FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
454 AM EDT THU APR 17 2014

...FINE FUELS WILL BE ABLE TO DRY OUT TODAY AND FRIDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
A DRY AIR MASS EXISTS OVER THE AREA TODAY IN RESPONSE TO HIGH
PRESSURE OVER NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND. THIS FEATURE WILL WILL MOVE
SLOWLY NORTHEAST THROUGH FRIDAY AND AS A RESULT...PLENTY OF
SUNSHINE WILL EXIST TODAY AND FRIDAY TO DRY THE FINE FUELS OUT
FROM THE RAIN ON TUESDAY. THE DRYING POTENTIAL WILL ALSO BE
ENHANCED BY THE FACT THAT AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES TODAY AND
FRIDAY WILL BE IN THE 20 PERCENT RANGE. WINDS WILL GENERALLY BE
LIGHT AND VARIABLE TODAY...BUT WILL INCREASE FROM THE SOUTH ON
FRIDAY INTO THE 10 TO 15 MPH RANGE. AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL
MOVE INTO THE AREA FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY. EXPECT
CLOUDS...HIGHER HUMIDITIES...AND THE CHANCES OF RAIN TO INCREASE
DURING THIS TIME PERIOD.
