FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
255 PM EST SAT FEB 13 2016

.DISCUSSION...
COLD HIGH PRESSURE WILL SETTLE INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC OVERNIGHT.
DRY AIR FEEDING IN FROM THE NORTH WILL BRING DEWPOINTS INTO THE
SINGLE DIGITS SUNDAY WITH MIN RH VALUES RANGING FROM 20 TO 25
PERCENT IN THE AFTERNOON. WINDS WILL BE LIGHTER DUE TO THE WEAKER
PRESSURE GRADIENT. E/NE SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS FROM 5 TO 10 MPH
ARE EXPECTED. SUBSIDENCE ASSOCIATED WITH THE HIGH PRESSURE WILL
KEEP MIXING HEIGHTS LOWER THAN THE PREVIOUS SEVERAL DAYS.

WARM ADVECTION OVER THE HIGH PRESSURE WILL SET UP WEDGE CONDITIONS
SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY. THE DEEPEST MOISTURE WILL BE ACROSS THE
NORTHWESTERN PORTION OF THE FA. FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE
EARLY MONDAY MORNING. LIGHT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS ARE
EXPECTED IN THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN MIDLANDS. THE WEDGE BOUNDARY
WILL LIFT NORTH THROUGHOUT THE DAY MONDAY AS A COLD FRONT
APPROACHES LATE MONDAY.

WITH DRY AIR IN PLACE TONIGHT FOG IS NOT EXPECTED TO BE AN ISSUE
SUNDAY MORNING.
