FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
302 PM EST WED JAN 18 2017

.DISCUSSION...A WEAK COLD FRONT WILL DROP SOUTH OF THE FORECAST AREA
BY EARLY THIS EVENING. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD ACROSS FROM THE
NORTH TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY. THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL STALL
BEFORE MOVING BACK NORTH AS A WARM FRONT THURSDAY NIGHT INTO
FRIDAY MORNING.

POOR DISPERSION IS EXPECTED THIS EVENING INTO THE MORNING HOURS
WITH A WEAK AND DRIER LOW-LEVEL AIRFLOW. THE DRIE AIR COMBINED
WITH SOME UPPER CLOUDINESS LATE TONIGHT WILL PREVENT ANY
SIGNIFICANT FOG FROM FORMING.

SURFACE WINDS THURSDAY WILL BE FROM THE EAST-NORTHEAST AROUND
5 MPH AFTER DAYBREAK...THEN BECOME MORE EAST-SOUTHEAST DURING
THE AFTERNOON. TRANSPORT WINDS WILL BE SIMILAR IN DIRECTION AT
SPEEDS OF 5 TO 10 MPH. RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO AROUND
45 PERCENT.
