FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
259 PM EDT SUN JUL 24 2016

.DISCUSSION...A PERSISTENT UPPER-LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE
EXTENDING FROM THE DEEP SOUTH TO THE OFFSHORE WATERS OF THE
SOUTHEAST STATES WILL REMAIN IN CONTROL THROUGH TUESDAY.
DESPITE MOIST AND UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS...WEAK
SUBSIDENCE WILL LIMIT THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT WITH ONLY
ISOLATED ACTIVITY EXPECTED IN THE HEAT OF THE AFTERNOON EACH
DAY.

THE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL BE GENERALLY WEAK THIS EVENING
THROUGH EARLY MONDAY MORNING...BUT WITH SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE
CENTERED OVER THE OFFSHORE WATERS...WEAK MIXING WILL PROMOTE
FAIR DISPERSION AT TIMES. THIS FACTOR AND SOME MID-LEVEL CLOUDS
WILL PREVENT ANY RADIATIONAL FOG FROM FORMING.

SURFACE WINDS MONDAY WILL BE FROM THE SOUTH AROUND 5 MPH
AFTER DAYBREAK...THEN INCREASE TO 5 TO 10 MPH BY AFTERNOON.
TRANSPORT WINDS WILL BE SIMILAR. RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL
DROP TO NEAR 40 PERCENT.
