Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Pennsylvania
National Weather Service State College PA
440 AM EST Mon Feb 20 2017

.DISCUSSION...

A ridge of high pressure over Ohio this morning, will push east
across Pennsylvania tonight and early Tuesday, maintaining fair
and very mild weather throughout the district.

A weak cold front will push into the far northwest part of
the state late Tuesday, before crossing the rest of the region
Tuesday night and early Wednesday, accompanied by one or two
brief periods of showers.

For the latter part of the upcoming week, unseasonably mild
air will continue to push into the region from the southwest,
as a wavering and nearly stationary frontal boundary stays just
to our north.

Strengthening low pressure will move northeast across the
Upper Great Lakes late Friday into early Saturday. The cold
front trailing south from this low will bring a period of rain
during the day Saturday, which will last a few to several hours.
Gusty west wind of 35 to 45 mph will likely develop in the wake
of the front.
