FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE Goodland KS
325 PM MDT Wed Mar 22 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 7 PM MDT THURSDAY...
...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 8 PM CDT THURSDAY...

.DISCUSSION...

Critical fire weather conditions are expected Thursday for locations
along and west of the Colorado Kansas border. South to southwest winds
of 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts will combine with relative humidity
values dropping toward 10 percent to create critical fire weather
conditions.

A strong and well organized storm system will move across the area
Thursday through Friday night bringing a significant increase in
precipitation potential along with much cooler temperatures
and very strong north winds. Some snow is also possible.

Dry weather returns for Saturday with another chance of moisture
returning Sunday and Sunday night.

Looking further ahead precipitation chances remain into early next
week.
