FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
249 AM CST SAT FEB 6 2016

.DISCUSSION...

SEASONABLY MILD AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL TODAY AS A SURFACE
HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM PREVAILS ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST. MIXING HEIGHTS
CLOSE TO 6000 FEET ARE FORECAST FOR THIS AFTERNOON WHILE MINIMUM
RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES MAY DROP CLOSE TO 30%. GIVEN THE HIGH MIXING
HEIGHTS, DISPERSION SHOULD BE GENERALLY GOOD. WITH KBDI LESS THAN
300, RED FLAG CONDITIONS ARE NOT FORECAST.

SIMILAR CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ON SUNDAY, BUT WITH LOWER MIXING
HEIGHTS AND WESTERLY WINDS INCREASING AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT EXPECTED
TO CROSS THE REGION ON SUNDAY NIGHT.

WITH THAT COLD FRONT, THERE IS A CHANCE FOR RAIN SHOWERS AND
POSSIBLY A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW ON MONDAY. AS VERY COLD AIR
CONTINUES TO MOVE SOUTHEAST BEHIND THIS COLD FRONT, EXPECTING SNOW TO
FALL ON MONDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY MORNING WITH LITTLE SNOW
ACCUMULATION.

COLD AND DRY WEATHER IS THEN EXPECTED ON TUESDAY THROUGH AT LEAST
THURSDAY WHEN WARMER TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST.
