FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
516 AM CST MON DEC 22 2014

.DISCUSSION...
THICK LOW CLOUDS AND LIGHT DRIZZLE WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE REGION
THIS MORNING...WITH CHANCES FOR LIGHT RAIN INCREASING THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON. SHOWERS WILL BECOME EVEN MORE NUMEROUS OVERNIGHT AS
A WEAK COLD FRONT PUSHES EASTWARD INTO THE REGION...WITH A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE AS WELL. A WIDESPREAD COVERAGE OF SHOWERS
AND STORMS IS ANTICIPATED ON TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT...AS THE
COLD FRONT STALLS ACROSS THE REGION AND ANOTHER STRONGER AREA OF
LOW PRESSURE MOVES NORTHWARD THROUGH THE TENNESSEE VALLEY. MOST
LOCATIONS WILL RECEIVE BETWEEN 2-3 INCHES OF RAIN...WITH LOCALLY
HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. DISPERSION INDICES WILL BE FAIR BOTH
TODAY AND TOMORROW...AS CLOUD COVER WILL LIMIT MIXING HEIGHTS TO
THE 2000-2500 FT RANGE. GUSTY WESTERLY WINDS WILL IMPACT THE
REGION BEGINNING EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING...BEFORE DIMINISHING
DURING THE EVENING HOURS AS THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM LIFTS FURTHER
NORTHEASTWARD. DRY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED UNTIL THIS WEEKEND WHEN
AN APPROACHING STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING ANOTHER CHANCE FOR RAINFALL.
