FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS REGION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
347 PM CDT SUN MAR 29 2015

.DISCUSSION...
WINDS WILL GRADUALLY EASE EARLY THIS EVENING FOLLOWING A COLD
FRONT THAT PASSED EARLIER IN THE DAY. ELEVATED FIRE DANGER WILL
REMAIN UNTIL NEAR SUNSET TODAY. SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL REDEVELOP
MONDAY WITH ANOTHER SURFACE TROUGH DEVELOPING...THOUGH HUMIDITY
LEVELS SHOULD REMAIN HIGH ENOUGH TO AVOID ELEVATED FIRE CONCERNS.
MOISTURE IS EXPECTED TO DEEPEN MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY AS AN UPPER
LEVEL LOW PRESSURE TROUGH CURRENTLY WEST OF BAJA MOVES TOWARDS
SOUTHWEST TEXAS. THIS SYSTEM WILL LEAD TO A CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS
MAINLY FROM THE EASTERN SOUTH PLAINS INTO THE ROLLING PLAINS BY
LATE TUESDAY. ELEVATED OR CRITICAL FIRE DANGER WILL RETURN WEDNESDAY
AND THURSDAY WITH STRENGTHENING WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT.
