FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
513 AM EDT Wed Jun 28 2017

...Moderate to heavy rain possible this afternoon and tonight...then brief
drying on Thursday...

.DISCUSSION: The approach of a low pressure system over the Northern Plains
will bring widespread rain showers and isolated thunderstorms to Upper
Michigan mainly this afternoon and tonight. A few locations, especially south
central and east could see moderate to heavy rain with total rainfall amounts
of one to two inches possible. Brief drying is expected Thursday afternoon
into Thursday night as the low exits east of the area and weak high pressure
moves in, but then more periods of showers are expected for Friday into the
weekend as an upper level low pressure trough settles over the Upper Great
Lakes region.
