THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL KANSAS...
SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

THE COMBINATION OF WARMER TEMPERATURES AND STRONG SOUTH WINDS
WILL RESULT IN VERY HIGH GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER ACROSS MUCH OF
THE AREA CHRISTMAS AFTERNOON.

CHANCES ARE INCREASING FOR SOME LIGHT WINTRY PRECIPITATION
BEGINNING ON FRIDAY AND CONTINUING INTO SATURDAY. LIGHT
FREEZING DRIZZLE OR LIGHT SNOW IS POSSIBLE EARLY FRIDAY OVER
CENTRAL KANSAS...WITH LIGHT SNOW DEVELOPING SOUTH INTO PARTS
OF SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS FRIDAY NIGHT. SOME OF THE SNOW COULD
BE MIXED WITH LIGHT FREEZING RAIN OR SLEET IN SOUTHERN KANSAS.
LIGHT SNOW WILL END ACROSS CENTRAL KANSAS ON SATURDAY WITH
A MIX OF LIGHT SNOW AND SLEET POSSIBLY LINGERING ACROSS
SOUTHEAST KANSAS INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. AN INCH OR TWO OF
SNOW AND SOME LIGHT ICING IS POSSIBLE FRIDAY NIGHT INTO
SATURDAY ACROSS THE AREA. CHECK LATER FORECASTS FOR UPDATES
ON THE EXPECTED WEATHER THIS WEEKEND.

ARCTIC AIR IS EXPECTED TO SURGE INTO THE REGION FOR EARLY
NEXT WEEK. SUBZERO WIND CHILLS ARE LIKELY MONDAY NIGHT
ACROSS CENTRAL KANSAS...AND OVER MOST OF THE AREA ON TUESDAY
NIGHT. SOME LIGHT SNOW OR FLURRIES MAY ACCOMPANY THE MUCH
COLDER AIR NEXT WEEK...THOUGH ONLY VERY LIGHT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED.
