...CONDITIONS BECOMING WINDY TODAY OVER MUCH OF ARKANSAS...
...FIRST FREEZE OF THE SEASON EXPECTED TONIGHT TO SATURDAY MORNING
IN NORTHERN AND MUCH OF CENTRAL ARKANSAS...

.A CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BUILD TOWARD ARKANSAS FROM
THE NORTH TODAY...AS NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS WILL INCREASE AND
BECOME GUSTY. THE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE OVER THE REGION
TONIGHT...WITH WINDS DECREASING. THIS WILL ALLOW THE ATMOSPHERE
TO COOL QUICKLY. FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE LIKELY IN MUCH OF THE
OZARKS OF THE NORTH...AND IN PARTS OF THE ARKANSAS RIVER VALLEY
AND OUACHITA MOUNTAINS OF THE WEST. ALSO A FREEZE IS POSSIBLE OVER
CENTRAL SECTIONS OF THE STATE...WITH AREAS OF FROST POSSIBLY FROM
NORTHERN TO SOUTHERN PARTS OF ARKANSAS.

SATURDAY. THE FREEZE WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. A LAKE WIND
ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM CDT
THIS EVENING.

* EVENT...NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS AT 15 TO 25 MPH ARE EXPECTED
  TODAY...WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH IN PLACES. WINDS WILL DECREASE
  TONIGHT...WITH TEMPERATURES APPROACHING FREEZING AND REACHING
  FREEZING IN SPOTS...OVER MUCH OF CENTRAL PARTS OF THE STATE.

* AREAS AFFECTED...THE LAKE WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF
  ARKANSAS. THE FREEZE WARING INCLUDES LOCATIONS FROM MENA TO HOT
  SPRINGS...TO LITTLE ROCK AND BRINKLEY NORTHWARD...AND SOUTH OF
  CAVE CITY...CLINTON AND BOONEVILLE.

* IMPACTS...STRONG WINDS TODAY WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS ON
  AREA BODIES OF WATER. WHERE FREEZING CONDITIONS OCCUR TONIGHT...
  THIS WILL KILL PLANTS AND TENDER VEGETATION LEFT OUTDOORS
  WITHOUT PROTECTION.
