DISCUSSION:

SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP OVER THE
MOUNTAINS IN VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON WILL
QUICKLY COME TO AN END EARLY THIS EVENING. BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOORS
WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING WITH ANY
THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP. RAINFALL RATES IN THUNDERSTORMS COULD
EXCEED 0.50 INCHES PER HOUR. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP
OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND DRIFT SOUTHWARD INTO THE COASTAL AND VALLEY
AREAS...WHERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL QUICKLY WEAKEN. ISOLATED SHOWERS
MAY LINGER OVER THE SAN GABRIEL MOUNTAINS THROUGH LATE TONIGHT.

SNOW LEVELS WILL REMAIN BETWEEN 6000 TO 6500 FEET THROUGH SATURDAY
MORNING. A QUICK INCH OF TWO OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE IN THE VENTURA AND
LOS ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS WITH ANY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THAT
DEVELOP LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING.

THE NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN WILL BE LATE NEXT WEEK...WHEN THERE IS AN
OUTSIDE CHANCE THAT A FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL BRING RAIN TO THE CENTRAL
COAST.
