...RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE SET AT BUFFALO YESTERDAY...

CLEAR SKIES...UNDER HIGH PRESSURE AND COOL POST FRONTAL AIR...
PRODUCED A COLDER THAN NORMAL MORNING ACROSS WYOMING. THIS SET A NEW
RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 36 DEGREES AT THE JOHNSON COUNTY AIRPORT
NEAR BUFFALO THIS MORNING. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 47 THAT WAS
SET BACK IN 2008. THIS ALSO TIED THE COLDEST TEMPERATURE ON
RECORD...FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST...AT THE JOHNSON COUNTY AIRPORT
SITE...WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY SET ON AUGUST 17TH IN 2002. NOTE THE
RECORDS FOR THE BUFFALO SITE ONLY DATE BACK TO 1998.

THE RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE AT THE COOPERATIVE OBSERVER IN BUFFALO
WAS ALSO SET YESTERDAY...AUGUST 23. A RECORD LOW OF 34 DEGREES BROKE
THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 37 DEGREES...LAST SET IN 1992. THIS WAS NOT
THE COLDEST REPORTED TEMPERATURE FOR AUGUST AT THE COOPERATIVE
OBSERVER. THAT RECORD WAS SET ON AUGUST 22ND 1904...WITH A
TEMPERATURE OF 30 DEGREES.
