...Snow and Slushy Driving Conditions on Mountain Passes Today
into Thursday...

Rain and snow will develop across Southeast Idaho today into
Thursday. Snow levels will be around 6000 feet elevation with
slushy snow possible as low as 5000 feet. Accumulation of 3 to 6
inches is expected on mountain passes with locally higher amounts
over the eastern highlands, particularly the Northern Wyoming
border areas. Some snow will melt or turn to slush during the
afternoon hours. The best time for snow to remain on road surfaces
will be tonight. Difficult driving conditions are expected on
Galena Summit, Banner Summit, Willow Creek Pass, and most of the
passes along the Idaho and Wyoming border. Be prepared for winter
like driving conditions and perhaps avoiding some of the higher
elevation passes if possible.
