...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SHREVEPORT HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR LIGHT FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST SATURDAY.

* EVENT...AREAS OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET HAVE DEVELOPED
  THIS EVENING OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHCENTRAL TEXAS. THIS PRECIPITATION
  WILL CONTINUE TO SHIFT NORTHEAST ACROSS THE WESTERN SECTIONS OF
  EAST TEXAS OVERNIGHT...WHICH WILL RESULT IN LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS
  OF UP TO SEVERAL HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH.

* TIMING...THE LIGHT FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL MOVE INTO THE
  ADVISORY AREA AFTER MIDNIGHT...AND CONTINUE THROUGH MID MORNING
  SATURDAY BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO RAIN AS SURFACE TEMPERATURES
  CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING.

* IMPACT...LIGHT ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED ON ELEVATED
  OBJECTS SUCH AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES...AS WELL AS SOME TREES
  AND POWER LINES. THIS LIGHT ACCUMULATION OF ICE WILL RESULT IN
  HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET MEANS THAT
PERIODS OF ICE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADWAYS AND POSSIBLE TRAVEL DELAYS. USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.

* EVENT...PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS PORTIONS OF
  EXTREME NORTHEAST TEXAS...SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA...AND ADJACENT
  SECTIONS OF SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS. WHILE ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL
  AMOUNTS WILL BE LIGHT...UP TO A HALF INCH POSSIBLE...SOME
  ROADWAYS...BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES HAVE ALREADY ICED OVER FROM
  SNOWFALL THAT FELL EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON. WHERE SNOWFALL
  ACCUMULATIONS WERE LIGHTER...PATCHY ICE WILL STILL BE POSSIBLE
  OVERNIGHT AS TEMPERATURES REMAIN BELOW FREEZING.

* TIMING...PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA
  OVERNIGHT THROUGH MUCH OF SATURDAY MORNING BEFORE TEMPERATURES
  ARE ABLE TO CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING.

* IMPACT...SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATION ON ROADS WILL RESULT IN
  HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.
