National Weather Service Gaylord MI

...The State of Michigan will conduct a live test tornado warning
Wednesday April 19th...

The National Weather Service will use NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards
to conduct a statewide live test tornado drill on Wednesday April 19th.
At 100 pm EDT, the National Weather Service will use a live tornado
warning code on NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards to simulate an actual
tornado warning. These tests will cover all counties in Michigan and
will originate from the NWS offices at Grand Rapids... Gaylord...
Marquette... Detroit/Pontiac... and Northern Indiana. People are
urged to practice their tornado safety measures during the drill.

To all media in the state, please be aware of these messages and take
appropriate actions as necessary. The message will be sent out on
NOAA Weather Radio E A S encoding units using a live tornado warning
code (T O R) and will activate E A S. Note that because of the
test coding, many alerting systems may not automatically activate
including Wireless Emergency Alerts, EMnet and many phone apps.

To our NOAA Weather Radio listeners, please be aware that the NOAA
Weather Radio alarm tone will be activated on Wednesday April 19th
at 100 pm for the live tornado warning code (TOR SAME code). The
100 pm EDT statewide tornado drill will replace the normal
scheduled Wednesday routine weekly test (R W T SAME code).

The statewide live test tornado warning is being conducted in
partnership with the state of Michigan... Michigan State Police
Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division... Michigan
Association of Broadcasters...local and state emergency management...
Michigan Committee for Severe Weather Awareness... and the American
Red Cross.

Comments and feedback of the statewide live tornado drill can be
submitted on the Michigan Committee for Severe Weather Awareness

The statewide tornado drill is being conducted in conjunction with
Severe Weather Awareness Week, April 16th to April 22nd.
