...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 08/17/17 TORNADO EVENT...

An EF0 tornado briefly touched down near the north shore of
George Lake, 3 miles southeast of Lupton, in Ogemaw County
on Thursday evening. Pictures relayed to NWS Gaylord provide
evidence that the tornado began as a tornadic waterspout over
the northern portion of George Lake before moving ashore. Damage
was focused on Maple Avenue along the north shore of George Lake,
primarily impacting a few houses, an outbuilding and several
docks/boats.
