...RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES SET FOR SECOND DAY IN A ROW AT TRAVERSE
CITY, GAYLORD AND PELLSTON MICHIGAN FOR DECEMBER 24TH...

THIS MAY SOUND ODD SINCE TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN FALLING THROUGH THE
DAY. HOWEVER...THE MAX TEMPERATURES FOR TODAY HAVE ALREADY BEEN
REALIZED...HAVING OCCURRED DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. THOSE
READINGS HAVE SET NEW RECORDS AT ALL OF OUR FIRST ORDER REPORTING
STATIONS...THOSE LISTED BELOW AS WELL AS HOUGHTON LAKE, ALPENA AND
SAULT STE MARIE. SEE INDIVIDUAL SITE SPECIFIC RECORD EVENT REPORTS
FOR THOSE LATTER THREE.

TRAVERSE CITY SET A NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE TODAY...DECEMBER
24TH...WHEN THE TEMPERATURE AT CHERRY CAPITAL AIRPORT HIT 59 DEGREES
AT 1:25 THIS MORNING. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 48 DEGREES SET
WAY BACK IN 1994.

GAYLORD ALSO SET A NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE...WHEN THE GAYLORD
OTSEGO COUNTY AIRPORT REACHED 55 DEGREES AT 2:32 THIS MORNING. THIS
BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 44 DEGREES...ALSO RECORDED IN 1994.

AND FINALLY...PELLSTON AIRPORT SET A NEW RECORD AS WELL...WITH A
TEMPERATURE OF 57 DEGREES AT 2:51 THIS MORNING. THIS BROKE THE OLD
RECORD OF 48 DEGREES WHICH WAS LAST REACHED IN...YOU GUESSED
IT...1957.
