...Lake Effect Snow Continues Over Far Southwest New York...

Lake effect snow will continue to impact portions of Southwestern
New York from about Brocton to Ripley along I-90 and east to
about Salamanca along I-86. Snow rates will be highly
variable, but could occasionally reach 2 inches per hour. Afternoon
snowfall will approach 6 inches in hardest hit areas.

Lake effect snow will intensify toward or after sunset and move a
little to the north. This will include the I-90 corridor to about
Angola overnight. Look for another 6 inches this evening under the
heart of the snow bands.

Travelers will continue to experience highly variable conditions
across this region, with wet roadways quickly becoming snow
packed with minimal visibility at times. Be prepared for rapidly
changing conditions.

...Lake Effect Snow Returns This Afternoon and Evening...

After a long break this morning, expect lake effect snow to
return to portions of the Rochester Metro area, especially east
of Rochester by or after sunset. Snow rates will be highly
variable, but could occasionally reach 2 inches per hour. Snowfall
amounts may approach 6 inches in hardest hit areas by mid evening
east of Rochester.

Travelers along the Thruway from about Phelps to Weedsport should
be prepared for variable conditions later this afternoon into the
evening, with with wet roadways quickly becoming snow packed with
minimal visibility at times. Be prepared for rapidly changing
conditions.
