URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...SNOW WILL BE TAPERING OFF FROM WEST TO EAST TODAY AND THEN SOME
INTENSE BANDS OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW MAY DEVELOP FOR THE SNOWBELT...

.SNOW AHEAD OF AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL BE TAPERING OFF TODAY AND
IT WILL BECOME BREEZY BEHIND THE FRONT. ONCE THE FRONT MOVES
THROUGH LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL DEVELOP. THE WIND DIRECTION WILL BE
CRITICAL TO INDICATE HOW FAR INLAND THE SNOW BANDS WILL GET. AT
THIS TIME IT LOOKS LIKE THEY WILL WIGGLE I.E. MOVE INLAND A FEW
MILES AND THEN MOVE BACK OFFSHORE.  THESE SNOW BANDS COULD HAVE SNOWFALL RATES
AS HIGH AS 3 INCHES AN HOUR AND COMBINED WITH STRONG WINDS...NEAR
BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL OCCUR AND TRAVEL COULD BE DIFFICULT IF
NOT IMPOSSIBLE. PEOPLE TRAVELLING FROM LAKE COUNTY INTO ERIE
COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA ON INTERSTATE 90 AND POINTS NORTHEAST TONIGHT
THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT MAY NEED TO POSTPONE TRAVEL. UPDATED
FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS WILL NEED TO BE MONITORED ON THIS
IMPENDING MAJOR LAKE EFFECT EVENT.

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO LOCALLY 4 INCHES THROUGH
  EARLY EVENING.

* TIMING...LIGHT TO MODERATE WIDESPREAD SNOW WILL TAPER OFF BY
  MID AFTERNOON THEN LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL DEVELOP AND
  CONTINUE UNTIL TAPERING OFF LATE TUESDAY NIGHT.

* WEST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 20 TO 25 MPH BY TONIGHT WITH GUSTS
  TO 35 MPH CAUSING BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. WINDS WILL
  DIMINISH TUESDAY NIGHT.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BE SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY. VISIBILITY
  WILL BE GREATLY REDUCED...ESPECIALLY WHEN BLOWING SNOW OCCURS.
  ONCE THE BANDS OF LAKE EFFECT DEVELOP ESPECIALLY TONIGHT AND
  COMBINED WITH THE STRONG WINDS...NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL
  OCCUR. SOME ROADS COULD BECOME IMPASSABLE AND TRAVEL COULD BE
  DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE. HOWEVER...THIS IS ALL DEPENDENT ON
  WHERE THE SNOW BANDS LINE UP. THE SNOW BANDS WILL BE MOVING
  AROUND THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. THEY ARE EXPECTED TO BE CLOSE TO
  THE LAKESHORE WHICH WILL AFFECT INTERSTATE 90.

IN LAKE EFFECT SNOW THE WEATHER CAN VARY FROM LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW
IN NARROW BANDS TO CLEAR SKIES JUST A FEW MILES AWAY. IF YOU WILL
BE TRAVELING ACROSS THE REGION BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN
