...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A FLOOD
WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN...

  Clinton River

.Heavy rain fall of 1 to 3 inches this morning has led to significant
rises above flood stage along the Clinton River. A break in widespread
rainfall will allow the river to fall to around flood stage this
evening.  Batches of rain with pockets of moderate to heavy rain will
rotate out of Ohio over the area through Friday.  An additional 1 to 3
inches of rainfall is possible leading to another rise in the river.
Peak crest is all dependant on amount and time frame in which it falls.
The following forecast is based on the median rainfall expected so the
actual peak crest could end up being around a foot higher or lower.
Adjustments will be made as the event unfolds.

The National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac has issued a

* Flood warning for
  the Clinton River in Sterling Heights and Clinton Township..
* From now until further notice.
* At 3 PM Thursday the stage is 16.4 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...the river is at crest and should begin
  falling to around flood stage this evening before
  rising again overnight.
