...WINTRY PRECIPITATION EXPECTED TONIGHT AND TUESDAY...

A COMPLEX STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT WISCONSIN TONIGHT
AND TUESDAY. AT 805 PM...SNOW WAS FALLING ACROSS MOST OF THE
AREA. THE SNOW HAD YET TO REACH FAR NORTHWEST VILAS COUNTY.
SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES ACROSS EAST-CENTRAL WISCONSIN WERE
RESULTING IN MAINLY RAIN FROM THE FOX VALLEY...EAST...TO THE
LAKESHORE.

THE BAND OF PRECIPITATION THAT WAS OVER THE AREA THIS EVENING WILL
EDGE SLOWLY NORTH AND WEAKEN OVERNIGHT. PRECIPITATION SHOULD
CONTINUE TO FALL AS SNOW ACROSS NORTH-CENTRAL...NORTHEAST...AND
MOST OF CENTRAL WISCONSIN. TEMPERATURES IN THESE AREAS WERE NEAR
FREEZING...BUT THE SNOW WILL FALL HARD ENOUGH TO RESULT IN AT
LEAST A SLUSHY ACCUMULATION ON ROADS AND SIDEWALKS...AND SLIPPERY
TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

THE PRECIPITATION OVER THE FOX VALLEY AND LAKESHORE WILL REMAIN
PRIMARILY RAIN...AND THE RAIN WILL PROBABLY EXPAND A LITTLE
FARTHER NORTHWEST OVERNIGHT...EVENTUALLY REACHING A LINE FROM NEAR
WAUPACA...TO SHAWANO...TO OCONTO...TO STURGEON BAY.

A NEW BAND OF HEAVIER PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN TO SURGE NORTH
INTO THE AREA TOWARD DAYBREAK. COOLING WITH THIS BAND OF
PRECIPITATION COULD RESULT IN A BRIEF CHANGE BACK TO SNOW IN THE
GREEN BAY AND APPLETON AREAS FOR THE MORNING COMMUTE. ALTHOUGH
THERE IS CONSIDERABLE UNCERTAINTY OVER WHETHER OR NOT THIS WILL
OCCUR...IF IT DOES...A BURST OF FAIRLY HEAVY SNOW COULD COAT THE
ROADS WITH SLUSH AND HAMPER THE MORNING COMMUTE. ANYONE IN THE GREEN
BAY AND APPLETON AREAS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF
ENCOUNTERING SLIPPERY ROADS TUESDAY MORNING.

THE BAND OF PRECIPITATION WILL PUSH ACROSS THE REST OF THE AREA
BY LATE TUESDAY MORNING...AND THEN LINGER INTO THE AFTERNOON. THE
HEAVIEST SNOWS IN CENTRAL THROUGH NORTHEAST WISCONSIN ARE EXPECTED
TO OCCUR WITH THIS BAND...SO TRAVEL IN THESE AREAS IS LIKELY TO BE
HAZARDOUS MUCH OF THE DAY TUESDAY.

ANYONE TRAVELING ACROSS CENTRAL OR NORTHERN WISCONSIN TONIGHT OR
TUESDAY SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ENCOUNTER SLICK ROADS. ALLOW EXTRA
TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.
